Asiwaju Osibo

Chairman

Asiwaju Osibo is the current Chairman of the Board of Capitaltrust Investments & Asset Management Limited.

A seasoned industrialist, he has over four decades’ experience in manufacturing, publishing, retailing, tourism, hospitality management, estate management, property development and plantation agriculture.

Asiwaju Osibo is an industrial consultant specialising in production management and control and is currently chairman of Promaconas International Limited. He is the Chairman of the Biscuit Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and had served on the National Council of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and as Treasurer of MAN’s Ogun State Council. Asiwaju Osibo has extensive management and leadership experience. He was former Technical Director of Lipton of Nigeria Limited, General Manager of Inlaks Group Plc, Managing Director, Adeola Odutola Industries, Managing Director, CSS Bookshops Limited and Bookshops House Limited.

Asiwaju Osibo is a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Directors Nigeria and honorary life vice president of the Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Ibadan.

 
 

Engr. Ibikunle Ogunbayo

Non-Executive Director

An accomplished engineer, Engr. Ogunbayo has over four decades’ experience in engineering and corporate administration.

He is the founder and Chairman of KOA Consultants Limited, an engineering consultancy firm responsible for major landmark developments in Nigeria and Ghana, including the new domestic terminal at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Tinapa Business Resort, Calabar, National Stadium, Abuja (except for the main bowl), United Nations Office, Abuja and Maersk House, Tema Ghana.

Prior to establishing KOA Consultants Limited, he was Partner at Oscar Faber Nigeria, a firm of consulting engineers responsible for the delivery of such landmark projects as the First Bank Head Office, NECOM House, NAL House amongst others. He began his career at the East Central State Broadcasting Service from where he moved to Western Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (WNBS-WNTV) and subsequently, the Nigerian Television Authority.

He is a past President – Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Past President of the Association of Consulting Engineers Nigeria and past Chairman of the Nigeria Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Lagos.

 
 

Alhaji Shuaibu Idris

Non-Executive Director

Alhaji Idris has over 30 years experience in investment banking, treasury, and financial advisory services. He is the founder and Managing Director of Time-line Consult, a financial advisory and business consulting firm. He was Deputy Managing Director at Dangote Flour Mills Plc and prior to that, had worked at Liberty Bank Plc, Chase Merchant Bank Nigeria and Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue.

In the course of his career, he has attended several workshops and seminars including the Advance Management Programme of the Harvard Business School as well as courses from the Lagos Business School and Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge. He has attended the U.K. International Conference on Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance, and several annual conferences organized by the Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics, London.

Alhaji Idris is a member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Chartered Institute of Management (UK), Cost Management Institute of Nigeria and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria. He holds a master’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Wales and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bayero University, Kano.

 
 

Mr. Ekpe Ukpabio

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Ekpe Ukpabio is a Chartered Insurer and a member of the Society of Fellows of the Chartered Insurance Institute UK and Nigeria. He has over three-decades experience in the Industry.

Mr Ukpabio has served in many top roles in the industry. He was the Former Executive Director of FBN Insurance Limited, Former MD/CEO of Equity Indemnity Insurance Co. Limited, Former MD/CEO of Oceanic Life Assurance limited. (Now Old MutualLife Assurance Limited) a subsidiary of Oceanic Bank Group (Now Ecobank Group), and also a member of the Board of Directors of Oceanic Insurance Co.Limited (Now OldMutual General) and Oceanic Health. Former MD/CEO of AnchorInsurance.

He is a recipient of the TimeNews Development in Nigeria Gold Award in 2010.

 
 

Mr. Seyi Oke

Managing Director/CEO

Seyi has over two decades’ experience in corporate finance, asset management, infrastructure & project finance, private equity, financial and investment advisory, venture capital, Finance & Internal Control, equipment lease financing, general management and leadership.

As CEO, Seyi provides strategic leadership for Capitaltrust. He led the team that launched the Africa Infra Plus Fund, the first private sector driven infrastructure fund to unlock Naira denominated equity capital from pension fund administrators in Nigeria. He has also successfully set up Nigeria’s premier Naira denominated Healthcare focused private equity fund to unlock investments from institutional investors into Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

Prior to founding Capitaltrust, Seyi was Group Head, Treasury & Investments at Citicorp Financial Services Limited and before Citicorp, he was with the Stock Broking Unit of Capital Bancorp Limited. He began his career with Zawadi Investments Limited.

Seyi is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atoll Energy Group Africa, non–executive director of Karrabo Financial Services Limited, an eCommerce platform provider for promoting financial inclusion in remote parts of Nigeria and partner on the Banking Sector settlement framework. Seyi is the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Good News Vendors, a non-governmental organization caring for troubled youths and orphaned children. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Oyo Ile Economic Development Forum, a private sector initiative committed to promoting and harnessing the economic potentials of Oyo State.

He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria and the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria. Seyi has attended various specialist finance, investment management and leadership courses including the Senior Management Programme of the London Business School. Seyi holds a masters’ degree in Financial Services Management from the University of Salford Business School and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences.


Mrs. Augustina Ogbebor

Chief Operating Officer & Group Head, Halal Investments and Advisory

Augustina has over 16 years' experience in investment banking and fund/portfolio management.

As Group Head, Halal Investments and Advisory, she championed the launch of Capital Trusts’ Halal Fixed Income Fund. In her role as Chief Operating Officer, she is responsible for driving the organization’s strategy, structure, processes and business objectives amongst others.

Prior to joining Capital Trust, she was Director, Client Services at Faithshield Investment Management Limited, a boutique private wealth management firm, and Head of Business Development at Lotus Capital Limited. While at Lotus Capital, she was responsible for lead generation, marketing, sales, client support, and investor relationship. She was instrumental in the launch of the Lotus Halal Equities Exchange Traded Fund, Lotus Halal Fixed Income Fund and Nigeria’s debut sovereign Sukuk Augustina has also worked on the commodities desks in the London offices of JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, and Macquarie Group Limited. She began her career as an audit associate at Deloitte & Touché.

Augustina holds an International Certificate in Wealth & Investment Management from the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment and has attended management training programmes at the Cranfield School of Management and Lagos Business School amongst others. She received a certificate of proficiency from the SEC on Fundamentals of Islamic Capital Markets. She has an MBA from the University of Hull, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bayero University, Kano.

 
 

Dr. Olusegun Oso

Chief Investment Officer

Segun has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare, corporate finance, management consulting investment banking and private equity.

Prior to joining Capitaltrust as the Chief Investment Officer, Segun was an Investment Principal with Aureos Capital, a leading mid-market investor in emerging markets, and subsequently became a Director with The Abraaj Group following the latter’s acquisition of Aureos in 2012. While at Aureos and Abraaj, Segun was a member of the investment teams on various regional and specialist funds, including the $50m Aureos West Africa Fund, the $380m Aureos Africa Fund, the $105m Africa Health Fund and the $1b Abraaj Growth Markets Health Fund, where his responsibilities included both deal origination and portfolio management. Segun was Lead Health Specialist on the Africa Health Fund where he led and supported investments aimed at increasing quality, access and affordability of healthcare in key markets within sub-Saharan Africa.

Segun had also worked with FCMB, Accenture, Leadbank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Afrinvest West Africa where he advised on landmark capital raising and M&A transactions in various sectors. Segun started his career as a medical intern with the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He served as a medical officer at the Apapa General Hospital in 1999 during the mandatory National Youth Service Corp program, after which he changed careers and moved to financial services.

Segun holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MBBS degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.

 
 

Mr. Habeeb Gbenle

Shari’ah Advisory/Compliance

Mr. Habeeb Gbenle is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ACA) and certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) on Business Valuation. He is also a Certified Islamic Finance Executive (CIFE) with Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance Dubai.

He is a Finance and Investment professional with over 6 years experience in financial analysis and reporting, Islamic finance product development and structuring, Financial Modelling and Valuation as well as Venture Investments. Prior to joining Capital trust, Habeeb worked with the LoftyInc Group where he doubled as the Head of Finance and also an Investment & Risk Management. In these roles, he was responsible for treasury management, financial reporting, tax compliance while on the investment side, he was charged with analysing portfolio performance, identifying and evaluating potential investments along with measuring potential hazards and risks involved. He has helped early-stage Start-ups with financial modelling and valuation which positioned them to raise about two million dollars in seed investments rounds. He also worked at Lotus Capital Limited and Halal Takaful (Cornerstone Insurance Plc).

Habeeb is also a trained professional on Impact measurement and report with the Global Impact Investor Network (GIIN) on Impact measurement and standard for tracking performance of portfolio companies.

Habeeb currently works with Capital Trust Investments & Asset Management Ltd as a Fund Accountant/ Shariah Compliance Officer. In this role he is responsible for daily valuation of the fund, ensuring compliance of transactions and portfolio management.

 
 

Mr. Opeyemi Akinkugbe

Finance & Internal Control

An Accountant by profession, Opeyemi is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA). He is also a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Education from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

In the course of his career which spans over a decade, he has handled various accounting, auditing and finance control responsibilities such as Audit Assistance, Akinmade & Company (Chartered Accountants); Accountant, Electronic Payplus Ltd; Finance Controller & Strategy, Truebond Microfinance Bank.

Prior to joining CAPITALTRUST, Opeyemi was the Finance Controller of Truebond Microfinance Bank – A subsidiary of Truebond Global Investment Ltd. He joined CAPITALTRUST in 2019 as its Head, Finance & Control and He is currently the Ag. Chief Finance Officer of CapitalTrust Investment & Asset Management Limited

 
 

Mr. Olusola Taiwo

Investment & Risk Management

Olusola is a Finance and Investment Professional with over four years of experience spanning, finance, financial reporting, capital market, mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory.

He served briefly as a Finance and Strategy Analyst at TEP Centre Limited, an education development and research firm. At TEP, he prepared management accounts, filed taxes and performed the role of an internal control auditor for the firm.

After this, he moved to an Investment Banking Analyst role at Boston Advisory Limited, where he structured and executed M&A deals and capital market transactions in healthcare, financial services, power and energy sectors. Then he moved to Flint Atlantic Capital Partner Limited, a healthcare focused private equity and consulting firm as an Investment Analyst. At Flint Atlantic, he reviewed healthcare investment opportunities and facilitated the exit of a portfolio company. While at Flint Atlantic, he worked with over 20 private health facilities in Lagos Nigeria to help them improve their financial management system in order to attract investments.

Olusola is currently an Investment Professional on the private equity arm and an Associate on a financial advisory arm of Capitaltrust Partners Limited. He is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a candidate in the CFA program.”
